Ruth M. Bullock

Ruth M. Bullock of Harrington, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from the Milford Center.  She was 92. 

Directly out of high school, Mrs. Bullock worked for DuPonts for several years.  She also worked for 12 years at the Wallison Dress Shop in Harrington, but she was mainly a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family.

In her spare time, she enjoyed cutting her grass and working in her garden.  She loved to babysit her grandchildren and helping at the Ruritan with their dinners.  She enjoyed people coming over to visit her in her home, and enjoyed a good laugh or a joke.  She will be remembered as a caring and compassionate person who would help anyone in need.  She was a loving mother who was always concerned for her family, and she will be sadly missed.

Mrs. Bullock belonged to the Union United Methodist Church in Burrsville, where she attended all her life, as well as the Union United Methodist Women, and also enjoyed going to the Harrington Senior Center.

In addition to her parents, Lawrence and Elsie Melvin, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Bullock; son, Roger E. Bullock Sr.; brother, Harold Melvin; and sister, Gladys Longfellow.

She is survived by her sons, Donald L. Bullock of Harrington, Michael W. (Karen) Bullock of Harrington; sisters, Pearl Davidson, Doris Dill, Shirley (Steve) Austin, Mary Young; brother, Richard Melvin; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 11am.  A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service.  Interment will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
