Raymond Edward Passwaters

Raymond Edward Passwaters of Houston, DE, son of the late Clarence and Tilda Passwaters, passed away at home, Saturday, July  23, 2016 after a long illness.  He was 78 years old.

Mr. Passwaters was a life long resident of  Delaware.  He was a member of the Delaware National Guard from 1954 to 1958. He also drove trucks locally until becoming disabled.

In his spare time Ray was an avid fisherman.  He loved spending time with his family, telling jokes, and tinkering in his workshop. 

Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Passwaters; sisters, Beverly Roberts,  Norma Hubble, and Barbara Kenton;  his grand-daughter, Connie Tice; and great grandson, James Tice.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sylvia P. Passwaters; son, Paul Passwaters and great grand daughter, Nevaeh Passwaters, with whom he lived; daughters, Phyllis (Lee) Waterman, Sr., Cynthia (George) Jester;  son, Richard (Mary) Passwaters; 13 grandchildren; 31  great-grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren;  brothers, Clarence "Jimmy" (Melanie) Passwaters Jr, LeRoy (Dawn) Passwaters; sister, Sally Ann Adams; as well as many nieces and nephews.   He will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will take place at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11 AM.  A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Milford Community Cemetery in Milford, DE.
