Myrtle Karcher, 87
MILFORD — Myrtle Karcher went to be with her Savior who she worshiped greatly with her loving family by her side on Nov. 25, 2016, at The Country Rest Home of Greenwood.
She was the daughter of the late, Walter and Hattie Mae Pearson.
Mrs. Karcher worked in food service for 27 years in the Milford Acme Deli before retiring in 1989.
Mrs. Karcher was a devoted Christian who loved to read the Bible and held Bible studies at home. She volunteered at the Milford Center and Milford hospital, enjoyed crafts, flower arranging, and could make angels and Christmas trees out of wire coat hangers. Mrs. Karcher loved to play bingo, sing in the church choir, and was a great old fashioned southern cook.
Mrs. Karcher was a feisty, five foot ball of fire who was very protective of her family. She was a very kind, generous lady who was always giving to others if they needed it.
She was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church and attended Aldersgate Wesleyan Center. She was a former member of the Harrington Elks and Harrington Moose.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Karcher is preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Bob” Karcher, Jr; brothers, Fred Pearson, Samuel Pearson, Wm. Nathan Pearson, and James Pearson; sisters, Catherine Moore and Mildred Smith; and grandson, William Lynch.
Mrs. Karcher is survived by her son, Robert Karcher; daughters, Vicki Lynch, Beverly Eskew, and Mindy Russell; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, November 30 at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington at 1pm. Interment will follow at the Milford Community Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior.
