Glenna M. Thompson

Glenna M. Thompson, of Felton, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016, from the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, she was 84.  Mrs. Thompson was born in Slaughter Beach to the late, Frances and Edna Mae Messick.

Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and also a foster mother for over 30 years.  Prior to being a foster mother, she worked in the Wonder R restaurant in Harrington.

In her spare time, Mrs. Thompson enjoyed watching religious programs on TV, taking rides, and watching her daughter Debra play the piano.  She will be remembered and cherished as outgoing with a huge heart, very giving, and the best mom in the world.  She was definitely one tough cookie and will be sadly missed.

She is preceded in death by husband, Norman D. Thompson; sons, Franklin W. "Bud" Thompson, Larry G. Thompson, Doug Thompson; and 11 siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Baldwin of Felton; several children that she loved and cared for; 8 siblings; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. 

Funeral services will take place at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 1pm.  A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Hopkins Cemetery, Felton.
