Ethel Mae Boone

Ethel Mae Boone, 84, of Camden-Wyoming, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, March 20, 2016, cared for lovingly by Gracie, Gary, and Frances Hurd.  She was born November 28, 1931 in Marydel, Delaware.  She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Cox and Harry Luff, and raised by Homer and Margaret Moor.

She was previously a home aid nurse, nursing home nurse, car transporter, landlord, and homemaker.  She enjoyed puzzles, Disney movies, ET, country music, and Nascar driver, Rusty Wallace.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Boone, 4 siblings; Louise Scisley, Nettie Taylor, John "Jack" Thomas Luff, Benton Luff; and two children, Billy and Carolynn Bowden. 

She is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Smith; children, Gracie and Gary Hurd of Camden-Wyoming, DE, and Patricia Collins of Chestertown, MD; step-children, Joyce Robinson of Dover DE, Judy Brown of Frederica DE, and James H. Boone Jr. of Harrington DE.  She also has 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grand children.  Special friends included Elma Voshell, Pauline Gibbs, as well as Kathy and Bruce Krumm.

Services will take place  at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 1 PM.  A visitation for family and friends will take place two hours prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Camden Odd Fellows Cemetery.
