Cornelia Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Patrick, 80
HARRINGTON — Cornelia Elizabeth “Betty” Patrick passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, from the Envoy Nursing Home in Denton, Md., with her family by her side. Betty had fought a long battle with severe chronic back pain and other illnesses.
Betty retired from secretarial work in 2000. She worked at various companies that included TIE Trucking Co. of Milford, the Suzuki Shop of Harrington, as well as Pep-Up in Harrington. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. Her cooking was phenomenal, and she loved to sew, do needle crafts, and spend time on the Patrick Farm.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Estella Sapp; sisters, Josie, Mary Ellen, Barbara; brothers, William, Jack, Dewey, Donald, and Harry.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Leroy Patrick, of Harrington; sons, Greg (Mary) Patrick, of Milford, Bruce (Laura) Patrick, of Harrington; daughters, Aileen (Greg) Cartwright, of Seaford, Faye Johnenne (George) Miller, of Harrington; sister, Bertha Houston, of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, who loved their mommom dearly, Cpl. Gregory Cartwright, Cpl. Adam Cartwright, Lauren and Chris Miller, Amber and Ryan Patrick, Margaret Cartwright; great-granddaughter, Hanna; and many loving family members. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved miniature collie, Tammy; and cat, Bootsie.

Funeral services will take place at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. A visitation for family and friends will take place Thursday, Aug. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
