Welcome to the memorial page for

Charles "Buddy" Guinn

May 12, 2016

Charles "Buddy" Guinn of Harrington, DE passed on May 12, 2016 at home. Born November 15, 1938 to the late, Homer Wade and Hazel Guinn, he was predeceased in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy Lou (Hoover) Guinn, eldest daughter, Michelle Guinn Heslop, and older brother, Wade Guinn.

After serving his country proudly in the US Marine Corps, Buddy went to work for PEPCO in the Transformer Test and Distribution shop.  Known to his coworkers as "Chuck", he retired as General Foreman after 35 years. He was Mr. Fix-It, and loved keeping his home, cars and equipment in tip top shape: if he couldn't fix it, you probably needed to replace it!  He loved cheering on the Washington Redskins, discussing politics, telling stories/jokes and spending time with his family and pets.

He will be dearly missed by his surviving family, daughter, Deb Harbaugh (Alan) of Newark, DE, his four grandchildren Sarah, Kay, Emma and Alana, as well as his younger brother, Thomas D. Guinn of Woodstock, VA, in addition to many wonderful nieces and nephews that were like children to him.

He will be interred in a graveside service at Hollywood Cemetery, in Harrington, at noon on Saturday, July 16, 2016.

Arrangement are by the Thomas E. Melvin and Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE.
