Catherine Killen, 88

FELTON — Catherine Killen, 88, of Felton, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Bayhealth Medical Center, Kent General.

She was the daughter of the late, Norman and Nettie Maloney.

Mrs. Killen attended Manship Chapel for many years. She was a homemaker, loved to cook, which she did from the age of 12. Mrs. Killen loved to cook  for everyone who came by her house, and no one left hungry. She was known for her yeast rolls and jelly. Her grandchildren loved her spaghetti and noodles. She loved family gatherings.

She loved to watch Family Feud, go to the slots, and ball games. She attended her grandchildren’s ball games, and they knew she was there.  She would talk to anyone, and never met a stranger. Mrs. Killen was known as a fighter and hard worker.

Besides her parents; she was preceded in death by husband, Lester Killen; son, Thomas Killen; brothers, Carroll “Teeny” Maloney, Norman “Jr.”  Maloney; and sister, Hazel Tribbitt.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Sue) Killen, Faye (David) Dill, Nancy (Jack) Dickerson, Connie (David) Billings, Peggy (Ron) Ivory, Donald Killen,  Eleanor Killen, Ellen Mitchell, Robin Killen, and Roy (Susie) Killen. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, plus one on the  way; many step-grandchildren; great-step-grandchild; and great-great-step-grandchildren; also many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2016, with visitation two hours prior at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
