Carol J. Oestreich

Carol J. Oestreich, of Milford, DE, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, from the Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital.  She was 86.  Mrs. Oestreich was born in Gordon, PA, to the late John F. and Dorothy Lewis.

Mrs. Oestreich was a homemaker all her life.  She was a stay at home mom who truly took great care of her family.  She loved to sew for her daughters, and always made sure their clothes were in fashion.  Part of taking care of her family was having a big garden to feed them.  She loved to can and freeze all of the fruits and vegetables that they grew.  She enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook and baker.

A valuable part of her life was Blue Grass Gospel music.  Together with her late husband, she enjoyed singing this music and playing the mandolin.  Having a relationship with her Lord was a priority in her life, and she enjoyed attending the Milford Church of the Nazarene, Manship Chapel, and for the past year, the Milford Church of Christ.  She believed in her Saviour and was ready to meet her Lord.   

Mrs. Oestreich will be remembered as a happy person who loved everyone and was a friend to many people.  She was highly devoted to her family and simply adored her husband and daughters.  She will be sadly missed.

Mrs. Oestreich was preceded in death by her husband, Allan D. Oestreich.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen (Nelson) Kenton of Milford,  Carol (William) Radzunas of Meriden, CT; sister, Joyce Robbins of Greenwood; 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Services will take place on Friday, December 16, 2016, at the Milford Church of Christ, 1003 South DuPont Blvd, Milford, DE at 1pm, with a visitation one hour prior.  A private interment will take  place later at the Christ Church Cemetery, Ashland, PA on Saturday.
